Note on Moving Against Capital

It appears that we cannot move against them unless we have the necessary means to do so. Paradoxically, we can only appropriate those means by actually moving against them which will, almost inevitably, involve sacrifice. Accordingly, to resolve the contradiction, it is, initially, necessary to move against them with the means which we already possess at our disposal however limited they may be. And this in order to acquire the greatest possible materiality of means to fully and comprehensively open up a broad and intensive offensive against the global capital system and its state powers. We must gather, concentrate and steel (‘collectivise’) our means and resources for this immediate task in hand. We commence this mighty historic struggle to put an end to the capital order at a disadvantage. Its state powers possess all the material and social means to defend itself. But the momentum of historical development is with us. The capital system is a system in its death throes. As a structure, capital is at war with itself because its has reached the end of its long historical road which commenced millenia prior to the emergence of capitalism per se. Having arrived at its absolute limits, it becomes increasingly hemmed in by the internally sharpening contradictions of its own structure (Marx, Volume 3, Capital). Capital’s long historic development creates the conditions for its own supersedence. It must annihilate culture on the planet (and so capital itself as a system) or it must be transcended in order for humanity to refound society anew as global socialist culture.
